Please join us for appetizers, a technical presentation, and networking at our May Mixer!

All members and non-members are welcome!  This will be a great opportunity to meet other young civil engineers in the Sacramento community.  RSVP is not required.

This month's presentation will be Building Hoover Dam provided by Mr. Paul Giroux.  Paul received his BS in Construction Engineering from Iowa State University in 1979.  Since then, Paul has been with Kiewit Corporation for the past 31 years working on a wide variety of heavy civil engineering mega projects throughout the United States such as Baltimore’s Fort McHenry Tunnel, several hydroelectric projects, Boston’s Central Artery/Tunnel Project, and most recently the new San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge Skyway Project.  He currently is serving as District Quality Manager for Kiewit Infrastructure West Company.

Mr. Giroux is member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and is a Corresponding Member of the ASCE History and Heritage Committee.  In May of 2008 he was the ASCE Chairman for the Brooklyn Bridge 125th anniversary celebration and delivered the featured presentation for the three day event.    He is currently serving as the ASCE Chairman for the Golden Gate Bridge 75th anniversary.    He is also a member of the Iowa State University Civil Engineering Advisory Board, and the Transportation Research Board.

If you would like to speak at one of our events, please contact Elias Karam at Elias.Karam@Jacobs.com.
