This month's presentation will be provided by James Pangburn, P.E. who is a Project Engineer at Mark Thomas and Company with over 8 years of experience. He specializes in transportation related projects with an emphasis on streetscape improvements.
The Riverside Avenue Streetscape Project is located between Darling Way and Vernon Street in Downtown Roseville, and is part of the Downtown Roseville Revitalization Plan. This project is of historical interest, as it once was Historic Route 40, which connected Sacramento to Lincoln. The project is funded by the Roseville Redevelopment Agency, whose goal is to create aesthetically pleasing and pedestrian friendly environments, and to provide infrastructure upgrades for attracting new businesses to the area. Designing pedestrian friendly streets while blending landscape and architectural features resulted in several engineering challenges. This project will be completed in Spring 2010.
