Please join us for appetizers and a technical presentation at our November Mixer!
This month's presentations will be provided by Graham Calciano, Ilana Cohen and Jennifer Wheelis.
Graham is an engineering manager with ten years of experience at Nolte serving clients throughout California. At Nolte, Graham has worked as a process and design engineer of water and wastewater facilities. On Manteca’s recent $22 million tertiary and $5 million solids handling expansion projects, Graham served as the design team leader. Graham is a registered engineer with an MS and a BS in civil engineering from UC Davis. His master’s research at UC Davis focused on UV disinfection. Both before and after Graduate school, Graham worked with East Bay MUD optimizing treatment processes of pilot and full-scale facilities. Graham will be speaking about the lessons learned during the design, construction, start-up, and validation testing of a 20 MGD LP-HI UV Disinfection Facility.
Ilana Cohen and Jennifer Wheelis are both active members in the Engineers Without Borders Sacramento Valley Professional Chapter. Ilana is currently serving as the Chapter’s President as well as the Co-Project Manager of the Limpopo, South Africa Irrigation Project. Jennifer is currently serving as the Vice President of the Chapter and has served as both the Treasurer and President in the past. In addition, she is the Project Manager of the Shisasari, Kenya Freshwater Protection Project. They will be speaking about the creation of Engineers Without Borders, its beginnings, how it’s grown, and how you can become involved and make a difference in a developing community and your own.
